What’s a commercial invoice?

A commercial invoice is required for shipments that are traveling to a different country in order to clear customs. As soon as you tell us that you’re shipping from one country to another, we ask you a few mandatory questions about the item you’re shipping, and create the necessary commercial documents for you. 

ShipNerd  transmits these commercial documents electronically to the courier for clearance on your behalf, which eliminates printing up additional customs documents, and provides for faster customs clearance.

Please note, some countries do NOT support paperless (electronic) documents, so we will automatically provide you with paper copies of the commercial invoice (3 copies) to include with your shipment. Should that be the case,  simply place all three copies into a document pouch that you can easily obtain at the drop-off location, (drivers have them as well when doing a pick up).
